David Bowie has shot down rumors that he is a new track on rapper Jay Electronica, despite claims to support.

The Roc nation rapper to his followers on Twitter message earlier this week with the launch: "What if I told you we even got David Bowie singing bg vox [background vocals] on a record?"

The legendary rock star with his statement on the official Web site has denied reports: "Following reports of tweets suggesting a vocal contribution yesterday, we can tell you that David Bowie is not singing on the new album by Jay Electronica."
